Whale Index
Indexes of Hyperliquid whale baskets. Every basket is a curve that starts at 100 and moves with the trading PnL of the whales inside it. Everything comes from the public Hyperliquid info API. Nobody deposits, nothing is copied or mirrored, the token pays nothing.
How a curve is made
- For each whale we read its perp PnL history (P) and perp account value (A) from Hyperliquid, backfilled for a year, then polled live.
- Step return: r = (P(t) - P(t-1)) / (A(t-1) + deposits inside the step), clamped to [-100%, +200%]. A deposit moves A, never P, so it is never counted as profit.
- A whale with less than $10,000 at risk sits the step out instead of dividing by almost nothing.
- Basket return R = weighted average of the members' r. Level I(t) = I(t-1) x (1 + R), starting at 100.
- Official baskets use equal weights and rebalance at 00:00 UTC. The rebalance is chain-linked: a whale entering or leaving never makes the curve jump.
- Before a basket went live, its curve is a backtest of its current members, drawn dotted. From the go-live day it is solid.

Filters (no vote can bypass them)
Official baskets:
- perp account of $1M or more, account at least 90 days old, 30+ active days
- all-time PnL positive, also without its best 30 days
- monthly volume at most 500x the account; plain user accounts only, no vaults or system addresses
Your own baskets (2 to 20 whales):
- perp account of $100k or more, account at least 30 days old
Build your own
Open Whale HD in the Finder, drag whales into My Basket, set whole-percent weights (1 to 50 each, total 100) and Save. You get a link that opens the basket as a live index. Your browser computes the preview with the same formula file the server uses.
What the token does
- Access. Hold $25 of the token and sign one message (no transaction): whale moves without the 5-minute public delay, Telegram DMs, 20 saved baskets, whale requests.
- Votes. Holders approve up to 3 whales per official basket; at most 3 seats change a day, quorum 2% of the supply. Weight is your lowest balance at 4 random moments of the day; the seed hash is public a day ahead and revealed after the tally.
- Backlink. Shared baskets and alerts link back here.
Trust points and limits
- One data source: the Hyperliquid info API. Every whale window has a Verify button that asks Hyperliquid directly from your browser.
- Leaderboard names are set by the traders themselves: shown cleaned, never used as an id.
- Votes are signed off-chain and counted by the index server. No money depends on them: they only move seats inside the filters.
- Past PnL says nothing about the next trade. This is an index to look at, not a product to put money into.
